One ring with slider type
This toroid winder accepts smaller cores than my two-ring winders and simplifies the number of rings and bearings.
Update: Since this is a design derived from my two ring design, the position of the counter sensor isn't optimal. I've added a new version slider to insert the magnet and “portatensor” to accommodate in a new position the inductive sensor. This improves synchronization with the movement of the core toroid and the wire threading.
Slider smooth friction and guide retention are important for proper operation and it has to be in accordance with the diameter of the wire to be wound.
Slider adjustment is achieved by bending the slider wire. Better a steel wire.
Tips: Fine sandpaper the ring area so the slider moves smoothly including the split sector
