The magnetic front cover (the “door”) of the Rook Evolution is nice and all, but it's super inconvenient when you need to open it, because you need to toss it somewhere before you can do anything.
That is why I set to design a hinge, and boy that was a journey.
I iterated over several designs, testing each for a day or two before deciding to move on because it was either not very functional or didn't match the aesthetics of the printer.
I then arrived at the last iteration which is both functional and beautiful.
It holds the door firmly in place without flexing too much, it stays in place when opened, it allows for the door to open almost all the way AND it perfectly matches the aesthetics of the printer.

In order to achieve minimal flex, I had to use very small tolerances for the hinge, so a well-calibrated machine and some good filament (preferably PLA) is required.
It can be printed on the Rook Evolution itself (150x150 bed) with no issues.
Installation is straightforward - it uses 4 existing holes on the side and 2 on the front. Some longer screws may be needed due to the added thickness.
