Modelo 3D Parametric Voron frame brace por Stas Reylne no Printables

Descrição

I was looking for some frame braces for my Trident because I noticed I could twist the frame. But I realized that there could be a brace holding not just the upper corner but also the Y axis extrusion that would also help keep it parallel to the edge of the frame but couldn't find one.

So I made my own. And to match the aesthetic I also made a regular corner brace.

Design

The overall height and the alignment protrusions are both parametric. It was designed for use on the Voron Trident but obviously it's just 2020 extrusions so it could be used for anything.

The alignment protrusion 9mm wide fits perfectly to my extrusions, print the “alignment_test” to check how it fits your extrusions. The height of 0.5mm is to fit a Roll in T-nut underneath.

The Gantry Brace is set to 110.5mm, same as the alignment tool from the original Trident files. So you shouldn't change it unless you need it for a different purpose.

The Corner Brace is set to 94mm which I choose to fit above the front idlers and the same size for the four corners on the top.

For each side you'll need:

  • 2x M5x10 BHCS
  • 2x M5 Roll in T-nut

!!! UPDATE !!!

Non colliding front Z carriages released. If you want these corner braces or any other that would collide on with the Z carriages you can use mine that have a 1mm clearance from the front behind the braces.

They will interfere with the front  Z carriages if you put them on the bottom in the front. You will need to make them thinner to not interfere. But since I've already printed them (105mm to fit around the hinges I use) and I don't want to have different thickness braces on my printer. I made replacement carriages, same mounting and everything, just a slightly different aesthetic that will fit behind my braces, you can find them here.

I've included everything, STLs to print directly, STEPs for easier modifications and F3Ds for parametric modifications in Fusion 360. The V2 files are the same as V1 just with a few extra steps but decided to also upload V1s.

The V2

The V2 was more of an afterthought when I noticed that I could slightly bend the V1s in my hands so I added a reinforcement in the middle that should help in this direction. But the V1s made my frame much more rigid anyway so I don't think I will be replacing them. V2s are untested but the overall design is the same the only difference is more material in the middle that doesn't interfere anything and should be just better.

Printing

All STLs are already oriented and printable without supports. And yes, the alignment test is on the side because that's how it's gonna be on the braces.

Printed in the regular Voron print settings, so that's:

  • 0.4 Nozzle
  • 0.2 Layer height
  • 4 Perimeters
  • 1.5mm Top and bottom thickness
  • 40% Cubic infill
  • ASA filament

Alright, that's all. Happy printing!
