Description
Modular labeling system for Gridfinity bins. This is round 2 or prototyping, open to feedback.
Note that this is designed to interface with bins made using the fusion 360 plugin with the “generate stacking lip” feature enabled.
The chips have a detent in them to prevent sliding out. a word of caution, if your chips are elephant footing, there is a slight chance that they errors will stack up and the tray might bow very slightly, but for the most part it should be okay.
17mm chip width with 0.1mm chip clearance is the max that will fit on a 1u bin. if your tray allows for it, I would recommend some larger clearance and set the chip clearance to 0.25 (the detent clearance is set to 0.1mm, so the click interface should remain the same)
tip:
When bringing in the chip set to slicer, use “Split to object” you'll need to right click in the model space, rather than right clicking on the name in the right area where it says “Split to Parts”
Remix note:
I did use a flat “lidfinity” file as a starting point for this, and for the life can't seem to find which one it was. the file is so far from the original though that I don't know that it can even be called a remix at this point.
