Modelo 3D Simple Secure Ring Box por 3DPR no Printables

Descrição

Requirements beyond the printed parts:

  • Glue.
  • Keyring or Carabiner or similar.

This safe* box is designed to hold rings, earrings, even flexible bracelets on your keyring or on a latch within your bag, so when you are out and need to take them off, they won't get scratched against other items and can quickly get access to them again.

The box accounts for rings with larger stones or shaped rings.

The box consists of three parts, separated by STL files.

  • Ring Box Top (pink part in pictures)
  • Ring Box Base (purple part in pictures)
  • T-bar (grey part in pictures)

The base requires supports, just as the box is sealed on the bottom, but has to account for the T-bar piece.

  • The T-bar should be printed flat (STL is configured to be in the correct orientation), so the keyring hole is a continuous print line and therefore stronger than if it was printed as an upside-down T (⊥).

The T-bar needs to be glued through the base, otherwise the base will get stuck in the top.

To glue:

  • Stand the base upside down, so the groove is up, and stand the T-bar upside down (⊥).
  • Apply glue to the groove and edges on the underside of the base (try not to get any in the hole) and top of the arms of the T-bar.
  • The T-bar needs to be inserted through the base piece, with the lid (pink) slid on so the tip of the T-bar is flush-ish with the top of the lid. This will allow the T-bar to sit correctly when you glue it in place (otherwise it may not glue into the correct place. Please see picture.

Ideally, if you do have a 3D printing pen, or can melt the edges between the base and the T-bar, the connection will be stronger.

Using:

Place your rings, earrings or flexible bracelets into the base piece, slide lid on, put keyring or carabiner through the hole. The items are now happily inside the box until you take the keyring or carabiner back off and can slide the lid back off😊

*The part that connects to the keyring is still only plastic which is printed, so is only as strong as the material you select. It is designed to keep it more secure than having them loose in your pocket or a bag, and puts them in an east to remember place. It can still be cut off simply, or maybe even snapped with enough force. See attached picture where I did twist and pull on the ring as hard as I could to see how much force it could take, but it only deformed the hole.

Note – if the ring hole does go out of shape it will no longer be able to be taken apart simple. You will either have to try and get it back straight, so it can be pulled through, or, more realistically, cut the thinner bits of plastic and pull what remains through to open the box again.
