Descrição
With this new piece specifically printed for the Bambu A1, you can reuse the stock connector using its own screw in an elegant and secure way. A new piece that allows you to have a cable guide for the power cable and also adds lateral filament loading with the original connector from the Bambu A1.
Since it's located at the front, filament loading becomes much easier compared to dealing with rear parts.
Additionally, you’ll ensure that the PTFE tube and power cable stay aligned without crossing over, preventing them from getting caught at the top during large prints.
Other systems attach to the rear with a clip, but they’ve never worked well for me as they would break or cause other issues, like crossing the PTFE tube over the upper X-axis and jamming the printer.
This custom-designed part is specifically made for the Bambu A1 printer and offers three key benefits:
- Cable management for the extruder's power cable: Keeps the cable securely in place, preventing unwanted movement during the printing process.
- Adaptation for side-loading PTFE connector: Allows you to reposition the connector to the side while using the original parts of the printer, enabling a more convenient and optimized setup.
- Parallel cable and PTFE alignment: Ensures the power cable and PTFE tube run parallel to each other, avoiding any unnecessary crossing or interference.
This part improves cable organization and provides a practical side-loading filament solution without requiring additional components.
Required Materials
- Allen key (for the hexagonal screws).
- The 3D-printed part.
Original printer components (no modifications needed).
Assembly Instructions
1. Remove the original PTFE connector from the filament holder
- Use an Allen key to completely unscrew the original PTFE connector from the filament holder.
- Completely remove the connector and screw from the elongated decorative cover.
- Keep the screws, as you’ll need them for reassembly.
2. Install the new part
- Position the 3D-printed part in place, ensuring it fits securely.
- Screw the original PTFE connector into the new part using the previously removed screws.
- Verify that the connector is properly aligned to ensure optimal filament flow.
3. Secure the power cable
- Insert the extruder’s power cable into the dedicated holder on the new part.
- Ensure the cable is firmly secured to prevent any unwanted movement.
4. Align the cable and PTFE tube
- Adjust the power cable and PTFE tube to run parallel to each other within the designed grooves.
- Confirm that they do not cross or interfere with one another, maintaining a clean and efficient layout.
