Update: Nov 9, 2024; I have added a UL listed version of the switch now linked below. The original model is for a version of switch that was slightly smaller and had only a CE rating. I have left the older version in place for those with that switch.
The vcore 4 does not provide for a main power switch. This is a mount that is intended to be installed under the frame, or anywhere you feel it's convenient. The leveling legs will have to be extended about 6mm from fully thread in for under frame clearance. You'll need 2x 2.5mm heat set inserts and 2x 2.5mmx6 socket cap screws for the rear cover. The rear cover is there to allow for visual inspection of the wire connectors and switch to ensure nothing shifted after the switch is pressed into the print, and to greatly reduce the risk of shock hazard. All four wires are intended to route through the circular opening near the back of the print. To mount the assembly to the 3030 rail you'll need 2x 6mmx12 socket cap screws and 2x 6mm 3030 rail nuts.
Print with switch face down and supply support for the recessed panel opening and maybe for the lower side of the 3030 centering bump depending on how well your printer does overhangs.
This is the UL rated switch recommended for this design: [https://www.amazon.com/lcocove-Current-Rocker-Switch-Certificate/dp/B09TZQHJVT](https://www.amazon.com/lcocove-Current-Rocker-Switch-Certificate/dp/B09TZQHJVT)
The original switch I linked is here although it is not recommended as it is not UL listed: [https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S914SFB](https://www.amazon.com/dp/B07S914SFB)
Always shut down Ratos in Mainsail (or whatever interface you are using) and wait about 30 seconds before cutting power at the switch to avoid corrupting your SD card.
WARNING: These instructions are for the UL switch linked above only, other switches may require different wiring. Use wire appropriately sized for your application. Consult an electrician if unsure. Do not solely rely on these instructions for installation. If you are unsure, have a professional do it. Mistakes can be life threatening. Assume these instructions are wrong and verify that they are correct before proceeding. Perform all work with the power cord disconnected! Don't forget to set your power supply to the mains voltage level in your area. 230v or 115v!
Installation: I used 14 gauge wire which is larger than what I needed but I had it on hand. You will need at least two different color wires and four long wire lengths, 2 of each color. Route all wires to and from the switch through the circular hole near the end of the printed mount. Do not press the switch into the housing until the wiring is completed and verified correct, it is difficult to do after they are assembled. Note the “N" and “L” labels on the switch, 250 watt 24v power supply, and the IEC male connector (supplied with the vcore4 kit). Keep in mind that all wired connections either join N to N or join L to L, between devices. Take the first wire pair, and run it from the IEC male connector (AC power input) to the “O” side of the switch, again one wire for the N connection, and a different color wire for the L connection. Take the second wire pair, and start from the switch center terminals and connect the N side of the switch to the N input on the 250watt 24v power supply inside the electronics enclosure. With a different color wire, connect the L side of the switch to the connector that runs along the length of the fuse housing in the electronics enclosure (supplied with ratrig vcore4 kit). Now take a short wire and connect from the connector on the very end of the fuse housing to the L input of the 250 watt 24v power supply. Route all wires neatly and clip them inside the rails wherever possible. Double check all connections, replace the internal cover which covers all high voltage connections, and close up the electronics enclosure. Press the switch into the housing until it seats firmly, it should fit tightly and be immovable. Make sure a good fuse is placed inside the fuse housing. Replace the power cord and connect to the mains voltage. If connected properly when the switch is placed in the “I” position the switch will light up and power will be applied to the power supply and hopefully your printer comes to life.
