Descrição
A simple storage rack for filament spools. These are the plastic supports, you need to get 12mm diameter aluminium rods or pipes from the home improvement store.
The supports can be screwed to a drawer or wall using 4mm thick wood screws. If you want to fix the rods slide a M3 square nut into the slot above the rod hole and use M3x10 screws to fix the rod.
You need one support at each end of the rods. Add a 3rd support in the middle if you use very long rods (more than 50cm).
Printing
The supports don't have to be extremely strong, so PLA and standard settings will usually be fine. If you want to make sure that the supports don't fail use 30% cubic infill and increase wall thickness slightly (see the 3mf file for an example).
You don't need support structures if you lay the model flat on the print bed (hint: make the slots face up for best results).
FreeCAD Model
The FreeCAD Model was created in FCad 0.21.
The support model is in “Body Rod Support”, the other bodies exist to show how it is supposed to be assembled and are not meant to be printed.
The rod diameter can be adjusted in “Sketch Base”. The wood screw holes are in "Sketch Screw Holes". Both pockets for the square nuts are in “Sketch Nut Hole”, where the pocket is placed in the middle of the plastic between the rod and outside wall. The M3 screw holes are in separate sketches "Sketch Fix Screw Hole 1/2" - they are fixed to the nut pockets.
This model is under GNU GPL. Please don't forget to include the correct FreeCAD model if you distribute STLs/STEPs or physical parts.
