These was my first “self-designed” 3D printable parts, although I do not take full credit for them. If it wasn't for the donor designs mentioned below I would not have been able to learn Autodesk Fusion and 3D design concepts as easily as I have with this project. Although I have a CAD Design background in Civil Engineering, my training never took me into the realm of 3D.
Major rework of the original RPi Modular 2U Rackmount module mount to hold a Blink Sync Module 2 based on this Blink Sync Module 2 wall mount.
Have also included an embossed Blink logo on the front of the module, along with LED light tunnel holes for Power and WiFi status LED's (pending further work for light tunnels).
I printed using PLA with 0.2 layer height, 15% infill, 5 walls, and supports on build plate only.
- The Blink Sync Module 2 mounts to the modular mount using 4 x M3x8mm screws.
- As per the original designs, the module mount clip/handle attaches to the mount body using 2 x M3x12mm screws.
- I've included the module clip file as well, although this is 100% just a reupload from the source design with no modifications.
Note: As the setup mounts vertically, in this design, the USB slot is on the top, and large/long USB Flash drives could interfere with mounted items above. I have the Blink branded USB drive and it is a very low profile style, so when inserted into the rack, the mount needs to be angled slightly to slide in, then straightened however there is no interference with the devices mounted above.
As a side note, but still fully compatible, I am actually using the Raspberry Pi 4 19" 2U Rack Mount v2 frame by @commputethis, which is modified from @scaytrase's original model.
