This is my first attempt at designing a functional mechanical iris with six blades.

Each blade is printed in two parts, featuring pins on both sides. The pins can be added separately, and while glue isn't required, it can enhance the overall stability of the mechanism. 

The blades move within their slots, controlled by a rotating plate, with a backplate guiding the movement and a front plate holding everything in place.

The assembly is secured using screws and threaded heat inserts.

I'm planning a V2, where the middle and front plates will have better guides to improve rotation accuracy.
