Modelo 3D Model Rocket 1 V0.1 por ThunderRanger no MakerWorld

Descrição

Ready to take off? With this 3D printed rocket you can now print, assemble and launch your very own model rocket.

This rocket is made up of three parts the nose cone, upper body, and lower body. The nose cone helps the rocket be more aerodynamic as it flies through the air. The Upper body provides more length to the rocket (moving the center of mass higher on the rocket) while also allowing for a space to add a parachute or payload. The lower body is where the fins, motor mount, and launch lugs are located. The fins help move the center of pressure further down the rocket, which helps the rocket be more stable in flight. The motor mount is where the solid rocket motor is placed for launch. This rocket is designed to fly with a Estes F-15 solid rocket motor or equivalent. Personally I like to use homemade sugar rockets (There are some good Youtube tutorials out there on how to make sugar rockets).

Rockets are a key aspect of the modern world and our day to day lives. With this model rocket you can learn about astrophysics, and Newtonian physics. Creating a rocket like this one with a group of students or with your kids is a great way to introduce them to aerospace engineering, chemistry, and physics in a hands on way. If you want to learn more about rockets check out this PDF that NASA made: [https://www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/rockets-educator-guide-20.pdf](https://www.nasa.gov/wp-content/uploads/2012/07/rockets-educator-guide-20.pdf)

When printing out the rocket, I would recommend printing in PLA, PETG, or some other high temp alternative. It is best to print the lower body of the rocket out of PETG if possible as this part of the rocket will get the hottest when launched. (I am testing atm if PLA will work as well and will update the post after testing.)

I also plan on releasing more model rocket designs in the future.

[Please make sure to have adult supervision when working with flammable products. Review all local restrictions around the use of DIY rockets before launching them.]
