A1 Manual AMS System

This is a combination of my other models into a manual AMS device for the A1. The first is the Dual Spool Holder which situates the spools on top of the A1 and allows for storage of up to 4 spools per A1. The second is the A1 Spreader Arm which interfaces the filament and the PTFE tubes on one single arm.

This system functions like the AMS/AMS lite system aside from you have to add pauses into the slicer and manually change the filaments. However, this does offer the advantage the filament can be kept with in an inch/couple of cm's from the extruder head, simplifying and speeding up the process of changing filaments.

It uses the exsiting spool holder supplied with your A1 and it only requires a couple of modifications. The majority is 3d printed.

I have performed many prints with this system and have seen no drop in print quality due to the high centre of gravity caused by the spools. I hope the video in the pictures demonstrates this. This can be fitted to both the left and right side (fitted to only the left in the pictures) for storage and change of of up to 4 spools.
