I designed this simple yet functional bracket to securely mount the ThirdReality Humidity Sensor inside the Bambu Lab AMS (Automatic Material System). Unlike proprietary sensors requiring dedicated hubs (like Aqara), this sensor offers Zigbee compatibility, making it a versatile choice for those of us who want to monitor humidity without relying on proprietary ecosystems.
Why This Bracket?
All of the dry boxes design available don’t fit the dimensions of the Third Reality Humidity Sensor, so I created this bracket to fill that gap. It’s specifically designed to be mounted on the right side of the AMS using Gorilla double-sided tape, ensuring a secure and non-intrusive fit.

Key Features:
- Purpose-Built Design: Custom-tailored to fit the Third Reality Humidity Sensor perfectly, ensuring a secure and stable hold inside the AMS.
- Retentive Yet Accessible: This design allows the sensor to remain securely in place even when opening the AMS door, which tilts to the back. At the same time, the sensor can be easily removed for battery replacement by simply pushing back the retention tab located at the top left of the bracket.
- Non-Intrusive Installation: Mounts on the right side of the AMS using “Gorilla” double-sided tape, requiring no modifications to the AMS itself.
- Adaptability: Includes the .STEP file, allowing the community to adjust the design as needed for other configurations or sensors.
Installation:
The bracket is simple to install:
- Print the bracket with your Bambu Lab’s 3D printer.
- Attach the bracket on the inside to the right side of the AMS using Gorilla double-sided tape or a similar adhesive.
- Insert the ThirdReality Humidity Sensor into the bracket, ensuring it sits securely.
Recommended Print Profile:
- Material: The design is optimized for PETG-HF to ensure durability and flexibility, particularly for the retention tab.
- Testing Alternative: While it can be tested with PLA Basic, avoid using PLA Matte as it is too brittle and may break under the flexing required for the retention tab.
