Window Bird Feeder

A bird feeder for small birds, designed to be fixed to your window, but can also be hanging or fixed from the ground.

This prints in a single part, single color, without support.
PETG is recommended, but if your climate allows you could print in PLA. (Images here are of it printed in transparent PETG and brown PLA)

Three ways of supporting the feeder:

Suction cups on a window

Three suction cups can be used to hold it against your window.

Hanging from above

The roof ridge has a set of small holes in it, so you can wire it and hang it from above. Be sure to use more than one of the holes, to help keep it level and avoid it rotating in the wind.

From the ground

The base of the model has a threaded hole (7/8" Acme) which is designed to match the thread of a standard broom stick.

(Do check your broomstick will fit - it's hard to tell just how standard they are. Add a comment with your thread needs if it doesn't match, and I'll provide a variant or adaptor to fit)

Landing strip:

A textured ‘shelf’ area for the birds to land on

Hook:

Below the shelf at the front, a hook is provided, from which a fat-ball net etc can be hung off.
(If you hang something heavy be sure the model is sufficiently supported: it is best when the feeder is supported from above or on a broom post, rather than on the window suction option)

Easy-clean feed container:

Best seen on this translucent print, the feed container is shaped to make it easy to clean, which should be done regularly to prevent birds spreading diseases to each other. A set of drainage holes at the bottom stop it flooding should the rain get in.
