Modular Spool Holder (Fully 3D Printable!!)

This spool holder consists of hexagonal grid, which makes it an assemblable modular system.
 

UPDATE (25.10.12) : connectors modified for snug fit

Features:

• can adjust number, location of the connectors or spool guide freely as your need - thus can hold any type of spool
• multiple spool holders can be connected via ‘side connector’ or ‘holder connector’
• variations/modifications can be easily made since it's based on hexagonal grid form (dimension : hexagon of 3mm side length)

• I highly recommend printing ‘spool guide’ with TPU!

• This requires four 608 bearings, but if you don't have products you can print them from the link below! (which makes this design fully 3d printable) This 608 bearing design by “Tassesin” works like charm after some fiddling and lubrication with oil.

• If you are using the 3D-printed bearings, make sure you do the post-processing to let the bearings spin well! Using well-functioning bearing is important. Give a nudge to make rollers/isolators in the bearing move freely, lubricate them, and spin until you feel no resistance.
