Update 4/26/2025:
New silent version ("Slicket") released under print profiles. This quiet version will reduce distractions to others while still providing a satisfying sliding action. Please lubricate the silent version according to the instructions below for the smoothest operation.
____________
Update 1/29/2025:
Version 2.0 released with completely redesigned clicking mechanism. Clicket is now much more reliable and easier to slide.
Lubricating the click spring is required in order to get smooth movement. Please follow assembly instructions below.
____________
Clicket is a 100% 3D Printed fidget slider that makes a gentle clicking sound reminiscent of a cricket. The inside features a scalloped pattern and a click spring which rubs on the ridges and acts as a retaining clip to keep the two halves together.
Printing: PETG will slide much nicer than PLA and prevent spring deformation, so PLA is not recommended.
Assembly:
Step 1: Insert the click spring in the retention slots of the spring plate. Start with one side, then compress the spring to pop in the other side. The spring must be inserted in this orientation, with the center gap facing toward the arrow.

Step 2: Add a drop of grease on both ends of the click spring. You can use the grease that came with your printer, petroleum jelly or superlube.

Step 3: Face the ends with arrows toward one another and slide the two halves together.

There may be a short wear-in period where the clicker tab needs to “sand down” ridges a bit after which it will slide more smoothly.
