Descrição
I’ve designed this upgraded box for Cilada to make it easier to store and carry. It’s got hinges, so you can open and close it easily, and I’ve added magnets to keep the lid securely in place
My first print failed, it had warped very bad while printing the box. So decided to add brim to keep it from warping
Printing Guide
Box and Lid
Feel free to choose whether you'd like to print the box with or without puzzle pieces. Just print one box and one lid. If you prefer to print the game insert separately, be sure to use the "Without Game" version for the lid.
Since there are a lot of small details, I recommend lowering the print speed to 20mm/s for the first layer when printing the box and lid with puzzles. Even at that speed, some letters like "A" and "D" might still lose their inner dots, so keep an eye on that.
Tiles
For each tile, print the following number of pieces:
- A → 4 pieces
- B, C → 3 pieces
- D, E, F → 2 pieces
- G, H, I, J, K, L, M, N → 1 piece each
Additional Tools & Hardware:
- Deburrer for removing brims
- Plier for pushing the filament into the hinge
- 2 x Disc magnet 6x2mm
- 173mm filament for hinge
Assembly Guide
- Magnets:
- Optionally start by placing a tiny drop of CA glue into each of the magnet holes on the box. It's tight without the glue, I have just used CA glue to be sure.
- When inserting the magnets, make sure to pay close attention to the polarity. To check the polarity, take two magnets and see how they react to each other. The magnets should attract each other when the box is closed.
- Attach the Lid: Once the magnets are in place and the glue has dried, align the lid on top of the box. Magnets should easily hold the box with nearly aligned hinge holes
- Insert Filament Through Hinge Holes: Finally, take the piece of filament and push it through the aligned hinge holes to connect the lid to the box. This will form the hinge, allowing the lid to open and close. I had to use a plier to push the filament into the hinge
How to Play Cilada
In Cilada, the game begins by selecting a number, which corresponds to a specific puzzle. Once you’ve chosen a number, find all the pieces that match that number. The challenge is to fit all the pieces perfectly into the top of the box without leaving any empty spaces.
