Modelo 3D Vice Jaws (Universal) por user_1113379433 no MakerWorld

Descrição

Vice Jaws (Universal)

I designed these vice jaws to be adjustable to allow for customization for any vice (as I own quite a few). As submitted, these fit my most used 5" bench vise.

I've also included the reference FreeCAD models that are completely parameter driven. If you'd like to customize these models for your own situation:

  • Download FreeCAD ([https://www.freecad.org/](https://www.freecad.org/)) and install it on your computer.
  • Download my .FCStd file from MakerWorld and open it in FreeCAD.
  • Click once on the “{VarSet}” line (on the left side in FreeCAD), and then adjust the parameters underneath for your specific vice requirements (Inside_Length and Inside_Height being the most important to adjust). Note you can rotate by clicking on the “cube” in the top right to see your changes.
  • Then choose “File…Export” and choose “STL" (or “STEP” if you prefer)
  • Go into Bambu Studio and select “File…New Project”
  • Then select “File…Import” and adjust so the jaw “face” is on the bottom (no supports are needed), then slice and print as normal (I want some “give” for my use case, but you may want to consider up to 100% infill for a “firmer” print depending on your situation).

I wanted a set of jaws that were friction fit (so they could be removed / replaced easily but also wouldn't just flop around as I open and close the vise) and I didn't want the complexity of magnets (as I anticipate these will get scratched / damaged with use and that I'll need to print new ones on a regular basis).

If you want a similar “friction fit” you'll want to measure your vice jaws carefully (and you may have to do some test prints to get them perfect).

If you prefer a “looser” (slip) fit, then measure your vice jaws and maybe add 1 mm total to your Inside Width and Inside Height.

If you don't have or prefer a bottom lip, you can set that parameter to .01 mm or so (i.e. it can't be set to zero).

I'd also print these using a Textured PEI Plate as it gives the jaws a little “texture”. And of course you'll likely want to print two of these (but you may want to adjust the parameters for each separately as in my case, where my vice's rear jaw is slightly larger than the front jaw).

Would welcome comments and suggestions.
