Vinyl records will sound better when some weight is applied to it.

It will minimize any wobble in the record (to a certain degree…) and this will minimize the unintended vertical movement of the needle.

Especially with belt driven turntables the extra weight will minimize speed fluctuations provided that the applied weight is correctly centered.

To provide for the weights I was inspired by @MattInOregon who uses US coins for this purpose.
Coins are very accurate in size and weight, so these are ideal,
But I live in Holland and we don't have US coins here so I made one using 5 cent EU coins.

You will need 64 coins (8 stacks of 8 coins)

The total weight will be about 320g (using PETG, other filaments might be different but not much)

The design is done so that everything is a snug fit.

Coins have to be pressed down in the slots so they will not move and the top is press fit to the bottom part.

The hole for the pin is also very tight, so you'll have to press it down onto the record.

These tight fittings will ensure there is no play whatsoever and thus prevent introducing any unwanted vibrations.

The bottom can be covered with a stick on felt but do make sure you center that correctly.

As for the print settings I used the random setting for the seam lines to ensure an exact centering.

*Using any other seam line setting will slightly off center the coins and the total placement of the disk.

For the build plate I used a smooth PEI plate to create a seamless fit of the bottom and top part.

*The textured plate can be used, but you will see a small seam and you probably have to use a drop of glue.

I used PETG as it is a bit stronger than PLA.

*Use any type of filament you like, but I would not recoment the flexible ones.

The color change is done from a certain layer. The AMS will pick that up without problem.

*If you don't have an AMS you can add a pauze at this layer to change your filament.

This weight was designed with a narrow pick-up head in mind.

If you have a broad pick-up head, it might touch the weight disk when the record is finished.

You can still use it, but you have to lift the needle before it reaches the circular end groove.
