Description
Note: A newer version of the Ionic Wind Generator is available on my page:
[[https://makerworld.com/en/models/1826499-ionic-wind-generator-testing-base-structure](https://makerworld.com/en/models/1826499-ionic-wind-generator-testing-base-structure)] — this is an earlier prototype.
This is a quick prototype of an Ionic Wind Generator I designed. It includes a base and two different electrodes.
For the first electrode, there are multiple options:
- One uses tinfoil or a thin strip of metal with sharp triangles cut in to maximize ionic wind power.
- Another uses a wire with multiple sharp strands for increased performance.
The second electrode can be a metal ring or a metal mesh, but you can also design your own to fit any conductive object.
General design rule: the first electrode should be sharp to aid ionization, while the second electrode should have rounded edges for better performance.
Hope this inspires someone to experiment! 😉
⚠️ Safety warning: Only attempt this if you know how to handle high voltages — do this at your own risk.
