Modelo 3D Tree Trunk Christmas Light por cwurm no MakerWorld

Descrição

Hello there!

this is a tree trunk that functions as a decor light for your home to spread the cozy feeling of Christmas. It has three snowflakes embossed into it. Simply add a tea light candle to have this cozy feeling. Please only use LED tea lights and no real tea lights to avoid any potential fire risks ;-) I recommend the Bambu LED tea lights KC008.

The outside looks like it has the texture of a tree trunk. I have split the model into two pieces so that you can print the actual trunk and the inside of the tree in two different colors. The inside of the tree is 0,5mm smaller so that it can easily slide into the trunk. Use some hot glue or super glue to attach the inside to the trunk.

Please be cautious while removing the supports. Do not remove them by hand as the snow flakes have some very brittle details. I recommend to remove the supports with small pliers. A guide on how to remove the supports is down bellow in this page.

The print profile contains two plates: the tree trunk and the inside. They look like this:

This tree trunk has a size of 10 by 10 by 10 cm or 3,94 by 3,94 by 3,94 inches.

Print profile

The print profile is split into two plates. One plate for the outside and one plate for the inside.

Filament recommendation

For the model in the picture I have used Bambu PLA matte Dark Brown (11801) and Bambu PLA matte Latte Brown (11800). However I have also printed it in transparent PETG as a gift for someone, too and this looks amazing, too :-)

How to properly remove the supports

After having printed 10 of these trees for my whole family I have made a small guide on how to properly remove the supports without breaking anything. You need to have pliers and a box cutter.

Step 1: carefully cut the supports on the marked four locations on each snow flake:

Step 2: cut the tree supports with your pliers on the marked locations:

After that you should be able to easily break away the supports. You should still be careful when breaking away the supports as the details of the snow flake can still break away.

Happy printing and have a look at my other models, too :-)

- Update (December 19th) -

I have created a new print profile with a modified inside part. I have added a recess for the tealight so that the tealight sits in the middle and won't move around freely.

- Update (December 11th) -

I have been doing some research and I can absolutely recommend to try out Bambus new Wood PLA! I have printed a few more of these lights using Bambu PLA Wood Black Walnut (13107) and Bambu PLA Wood Classic Birch (13505) and they turned out awesome, too! Also when using the PLA Wood the supports are way easier to remove - I could remove the whole supports with my hands using no tools at all.

Also: if you like you can set “Fuzzy skin” to “All walls” in Bambu slicer. When doing so the print takes a bit longer but the texture of the wood looks even more real. Here is a quick comparison using Bambu PLA Wood Black Wallnut:
