Modelo 3D Blokus Trigon por Sergii no MakerWorld

Descrição

This 3D model is a custom-designed version of the popular Blokus Trigon game.

The entire game, including the hexagonal board and all 88 playing pieces (22 pieces per color), is designed to fit comfortably even on a small 3D printer bed measuring 18x18 cm, making it accessible for owners of compact printers like the A1 Mini.

Main Features:

This version of Blokus Trigon stands out for its flexibility in gameplay. Unlike the original Blokus, which is typically played with 2 or 4 players, this design also includes a variant for 3 players! Additionally, it can be enjoyed as a solo puzzle, similar to a solitaire game. In this mode, you can either challenge yourself to fit all pieces onto the board or simply use the pieces to create various shapes and designs. If you’re looking for a different puzzle experience, you can also try printing my previous model with a unique puzzle design.

How to Play:

The rules are very easy!

Setup: Assemble the board. Each player chooses a color and takes the corresponding set of 22 pieces.

First Move: The first piece of each player must cover one of the starting points indicated by a circle symbol on the board.

Placing Pieces:

  • Each new piece must touch at least one other piece of the same color, but side-to-side contact between pieces of the same color is not allowed.
  • There are no restrictions on contact between pieces of different colors.

Game End: The game ends when no player can place any more pieces. This includes players who have placed all of their pieces.

Scoring:

  • Players lose 1 point for each unit triangle left in their remaining pieces.
  • A player scores +15 points if they place all their pieces on the board.
  • An additional +5 points is awarded if the last piece placed is the smallest (one triangle).
The blue player scored -6 points and won.

Game Variations:

  • For multiplayer sessions, players can compete across multiple rounds, keeping track of scores to determine the ultimate winner.
  • Alternate Rule (for added challenge): Contacts between pieces of the same color may only be made using the corners. Any contact between the corner of one piece and the side of another piece of the same color is forbidden
  • Three Players: One color is unused, and the game is played only on specific area of the board (without marked edges).
  • Two Players: Each player controls two colors, and first pieces must be placed symmetrically.
  • Teams (2 vs. 2): Two teams play with the score calculated by combining both teammates' points.
  • One-player Brainteaser: Try to fit all 88 pieces on the board using the standard rules or create your own designs with the pieces.

Strategy Tips:

  • Start by expanding outward to cover as much space as possible.
  • Prioritize placing larger pieces early in the game. Towards the end, finding space for large pieces becomes particularly challenging.
  • Keep options open for your next move by carefully managing corner placements.
  • Pay attention to both your remaining pieces and your opponents’ potential moves.
  • Success requires strategic blocking of your opponents, infiltrating their territories, and even negotiating temporary alliances with other players.

Design and Printing Details:

  • Board Design: To fit the game board on a smaller 3D printer bed (18x18 cm), I divided the board into 6 separate parts. I put considerable effort into ensuring that when assembled, the seams are nearly invisible, resulting in a seamless-looking final board. I believe I achieved this effect quite well!
  • Ironing: For a polished, smooth finish, I applied the ironing feature. To achieve the best results, I recommend using the latest version of Bambu Studio (v01.10.01.50), which offers improved ironing quality. If you want to speed up the printing process, you can disable ironing without compromising the functionality of the game.
  • Adhesion: On a clean print bed, the pieces printed successfully without the need for a brim, demonstrating good adhesion with BambuLab Basic PLA. If you encounter issues with adhesion, especially on less ideal surfaces, enabling a brim can help ensure stable prints.
  • Print Surfaces: The game board was printed on a Bambu Textured PEI Plate, while the individual pieces were printed on a smooth holographic plate, giving them a beautiful, rainbow-like shimmer on their bottom layer.

Enjoy printing and playing Blokus Trigon with your friends and family, whether in competitive multiplayer or as a relaxing solo brainteaser!
