There are billions of people who are in the exact situation where they have too many Schiit headphone amps, and they need to stack it, but are worried that there isn't enough airflow. This model is for them. Not for me. Because who in their right mind would spend this much on headphone amps. I mean 4 amps. Are you kidding me?
Anyway.
This model fits the Schiit Valhalla, Schiit Modius, Schiit Jotunheim, and all other Schiit products whose footprint is 9" x 6". It friction fits into the amps/dacs, and is extremely grippy and stable. If you are using this with a tube amp, then for the love of god don't put another amp above it. Also, if you are using this with tubes, please use ABS because tubes get hot and will melt PLA/PETG.
As much as I hate having to buy more stuff to get 3D prints to work, I like wasting time more. So I didn't spend enough time making this fully 3D printed. Sorry.
You will need:
- 8 x heat set inserts
- 8 x M3 screws (I used 10mm ones, but anything similar will work)
Assembly. Its very easy:
- Insert heat set inserts
- Find the pillars. There are 4. They are the short stubby corner pieces that separate your amps.
- There is a hole that goes through the center of entire length of the pillar.
- Pick one end of the hole.
- Position a heat set insert such that the smaller end is in the hole.
- Use a soldering iron to push the insert into the plastic.
- Repeat for both sides of each pillar.
- Screw everything together
- Use the alignment pins to align the posts onto the flat end pieces that hold the amp. Some of these pins are baked into the model. Some have to be inserted into the post manually. This was to make the printing easier.
- Push the screw through the flat end piece into the heat set insert on the pillar
- Screw.
- Repeat for each side of the pillar
