Descrição
This is a variation of my original Spool Desiccant Container - [https://makerworld.com/en/models/669118](https://makerworld.com/en/models/669118) . It has all of the benefits of the original model and prints in even less time (42 minutes with PLA Basic). It's updated to provide better containment of small/broken desiccant and also fits spools with smaller centres. It provides as much airflow through the walls to the desiccant as the original.
Changes from the original model:
- The perforated wall gaps in this model are half the size (1mm) to help contain small or broken desiccant beads.
- The width of the container is slightly smaller (53mm instead of 54mm), to allow it to pass through spools with smaller internal diameters.
- There's an extra 1mm of rim at the ends to help keep the container in place.
- A minor improvement in the screw thread.
Description
A desiccant container that's fast to print and sits/rolls reliably inside spools in an AMS.
- Each layer of the perforated walls has 3 optimisations for speed:
- Each layer requires only one filament retraction (for the change in layer height).
- Each layer is a single wall (very strong due to the interlocking 3D design of the rings).
- Every print movement is in a straight line.
- The perforated walls print cleanly due to their bridges being short straight lines that start and end on the extrusion below.
- The perforated walls maximise the amount of air that can get to the desiccant.
- The ends of the container have rims to prevent the container from sliding out of the spool or inside the spool while in an AMS.
- The ends of the container (from the perforated walls to the rims) are “perfectly round” to allow the container to roll smoothly inside the spool as the spool rotates in an AMS.

X1C print times for 1x container and lid (excluding “Prepare time”):
| Bambu PLA Basic | 42 minutes |
| Bambu PETG-HF | 65 minutes |
| Bambu ABS / ASA / PC | 70 minutes |
| Bambu PET-CF | 48 minutes |
| Bambu PETG-CF | 52 minutes |
| Bambu PA6-CF / PAHT-CF | 48 minutes |
| Bambu PA6-GF | 43 minutes |
Please note that the print profile (3mf file) that I've provided contains print modifiers that provide the triangular lattice at the ends of the container and its cap. If you download and print the step files on their own, the ends will be solid unless you create your own print modifiers. My print modifiers also provide additional anchoring of the triangular lattice to increase the sturdiness of the ends.
