Rules for Marbles
- Goal: Be the first player to move all 5 of your marbles from your base to your home.
- Setup: Each player places their 5 marbles in their base, indicated by 1 of 4 colors. Each base correlates to a start position and home.
- Gameplay: Players take turns rolling a die to determine how many spaces to move. A player can only move a marble from the base to the start space if they roll a 1 or 6, only if the start space does not contain your own piece. Once a marble is in the start space, players move their marbles clockwise along the track to the home area. Players can send opponents' pieces back to the base by landing on them. Players are not permitted to jump their own pieces, if there are no available moves the player forfeits their turn. If a player rolls a 6 they can complete their turn and roll again.
Special Rules: Center position is a playable space only if you roll the exact number needed to land on it. Once a player is in the center position the only way to leave is if they roll a 1. An opposing player can still send a piece back to the base by landing on them. See below for only legal moves for entering and exiting center position.

Marbles is a modification from the traditional aggravation board game, but with new rules added. It has since become a tradition for us to play at most family events. The original marbles board was made by my grandma's neighbor in the early 1980's by hand and last year I decided to remake it to give it a modern look and feel. (Below is the original board that I took inspiration from)
