Modelo 3D AMS Buffer Guide + Quick Release (Version 2!) por dedge no MakerWorld

Descrição

IMPORTANT: This model is made for the “AMS Buffer” which is typically found on the X1C / P1S printers, if you own another printer have a look below :

15/02/2025 update : I am happy to release a new and optimized version of my “Buffer” Guide with Quick Release! Following the design and tests of the “Hub” version, I have updated the “Buffer” as well with the same improvements :

  • Less supports! 75% of the supports have been removed (no support on the sliding bores anymore) and the few remaining are very accessible and pop out very easily
  • Screw boss improved : the previous screw mounts were prone to failure on the first version, now they are easier to screw on and way more strong! I still recommend to use standard filaments with good layer adhesion (wood, marble for exemple might not suit)
  • Some gaps increased to ease assembly

In the end it is 10% less material, and approx 20% less printing time.

I have seen many PTFE guides for the AMS Buffer, and some improvements to ease the release of the PTFE tubes, but none of them seems to be nicely combined or did not satisfied me so I create this one.

This assembly is improving the routing of the filament around and inside the AMS Buffer and should reduce the pull back filament error. It gives you several benefits :

  • a perfect alignment of the PTFE tube and the filament as close as possible of the AMS Buffer system, where other models are bolted far away from the buffer, this one will guide the filament right up to the buffer system

  • a very quick and tool-less release of the PTFE tube : just push the lever of the riffle-like bolt action guides! The bolts will push on the couplers, no need for a tool anymore, it is even better if like me the access to the back of the printer is not easy :

  • bonus point for the custom look (let's impress us!), and it also retains the AMS Cable retaining function!

Please use the proposed printing profiles or at least follow those advices :

- support are mandatory on some areas (vastly reduced in version V2), they are manually added on my profile which I advice you to use

- main body is designed to be printed flat, and the bolts are more cylindral while printed vertically

- standard 0.2mm profile is OK : the model is naturally stiff, no need to go over 2 walls. Just use Arachne walls

- you can use PETG to even reduce the friction, but I have used several kind of PLA and it always moves like butter! No need to protect it from the temperature except if you plan to put your printer inside an enclosure

Assembly is straightforward, just move the board from the original grey body into the new one, I advice to read the offcial Bambu Lab wiki first for this step, it is excellent and the pictures are very clear: [https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/ams/filament-buffer-connection-board-replacement-guide](https://wiki.bambulab.com/en/ams/filament-buffer-connection-board-replacement-guide)

Bonus tip : you can pre-thread the screws on the body (for the first millimeters only) before putting back the board, to check that everything will be fine on the final assembly

Then you slide the 2 guides in the body like you would do in a bolt action riffle, and you just screw it back to its original place as the overall shape is perfecty similar to the original part. And voilà

This is my first model on Maker World, I hope you will enjoy it as mush as I am. Please give me some feedback if you find some improvements!
