I made this little lightbox as a project for my wife who runs a cupcake business to go on her stand at a craft fair. I made it so that the front and back sleeves slide in and out, allowing you to change out the front place so that you could print several faces and be able to change them to fit whatever you want. You could print out front plates for both the front and back to have both sides light up if you wanted to.
I printed on a Bambu Lab A1 and it came out fantastic. I used super glue on the dowels to keep it together. I installed this 6ft LED strip on the inside which almost perfectly wraps the interior twice. In included the faceplate that I printed as an example. You can pretty easily add your logo to the LogoTemplate plate.
To add your logo:
- You need to have an SVG version of your logo. If you don't have this, lookup using Inkscape or one of the various free online JPG to SVG conversion tools.
- Drag your SVG into Bambu Studio
- Scale your SVG. Make sure to uncheck Uniform Scale. Scale the logo to 0.8mm on the Z axis, then play with the X and Y axis scales to fit whatever size you want.
- Highlight both objects in the object browser, right click, and select mesh boolean.
- Make sure the prime tower is turned off. It is too big to include a prime tower. The project is using a small cube on the outside to flush into. If this doesn't flush enough, you may want to increase your flush volumes slightly. I didn't have any problems using 2 colors, but if you have more you may run into flushing issues.
In addition to adding a logo, you could print a lithophane insert to go in here. To do this, go to [https://lithophanemaker.com](https://lithophanemaker.com). You are going to want to adjust the height and width to 244mm. Set the base Height to 0mm and the maximum thickness to 2.4mm. Set the Stand thickness to 0mm. Then just upload your image, download your image, and drag it into Bambu Studio. For this large and thin of a lithophane, I would recommend laying it down flat or using a pretty large brim when printing.
I hope that you guys like the design!
