Modelo 3D Universal Adjustable Riser V1 and V2 por 3D-Dreamer no MakerWorld

Descrição

This riser can achieve fixed step heights of about 10, 14, 18, and 22 mm by adding the layers one at a time. By combining and rotating the threaded layers, variable heights between 14 - 48 mm can be set. Originally, I designed the first one to be an espresso cup riser to prevent coffee streams from shooting out of the bottomless portafilter when channeling problem happens. Then I realized the riser is so strong that it can work as an Universal Adjustable Riser for many other purposes. I've tested it with a 52.5 lbs dumbbell plus heavy books and other heavy objects with no sign of damage (it was printed with 0.4 mm nozzle, 0.2 mm layer height, 10% infill, and 2 wall loops). You can beef it up by adding wall loops and infill percentage if you'll use it for heavier duty conditions. The 3mf file includes both version 1 and 2 on two different print beds:

  • V1: Original design. Very smooth threading with polygon outer edges. Offering a simple look. Layers spin in and out smoothly.
  • V2: Tighter gaps between threads with yet smooth engagement and spline-grooved outer edges. Designed for heavy duty challenges. Offering a tough look. The height can still be adjusted when it is supporting heavy objects.

Both versions have a red color zone to remind users of the thread limits before layers separation. They also feature four counterbores for magnets. I only used three 8mm x 3mm magnets on my printed risers by press-fitted them into the counterbores (no glue required). The risers stick well on my microwave and fridge without any problem as shown in the photos.

Please remove the counterbores (in the slicer Objects panel) if no magnets will be used.

If you use different size of magnets other than the 8mm x 3mm I used, you need to adjust the height of the counterbore to match your magnets by changing the “Y” value in the slicer. Indicated in the photo below.

I leave 0.3 mm wall thickness between the outer layer surface and the magnet. If you change the magnet size, don't forget to change the counterbore distance as well. The 1.8mm here is the center height of the magnet 3mm / 2 = 1.5mm + the wall thickness 0.3 mm between the magnet and the outer layer surface. Please adjust the Y value as needed. I do not recommend using magnets thicker than 4 mm to ensure there is enough wall thickness/meat left to hold the magnets in place by press-fit without the need of using glue.

Hope you will enjoy this Universal Adjustable Riser and use it on your projects! Feel free to drop me comments if any modification is needed to make it more useful to you. You can scale it up for even larger and heavier objects.
