Descrição
This is a 54mm diameter silica desiccant bead container that's fast to print, sits reliably inside spools and is easy to add-to/remove-from spools. The design and profile make it easy to get a high quality and very functional print in a short time with any filament.
Please note: This container is suitable for desiccant beads that are in good condition and are 3mm or larger. For smaller or broken desiccant beads, use this version of the model [https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118](https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118) which has smaller gaps (1mm, ideal for smaller or broken desiccant beads) and also has a slightly smaller diameter container (53mm, which is great for all spools, but especially for those with small inside diameters of the spool hole) and is also a bit faster to print.
Features
- Each layer of the perforated walls has 3 optimisations for speed:
- Each layer requires only one filament retraction (which is only for the layer change).
- Each layer is a single wall (very strong due to the interlocking 3D design of the rings).
- Every print movement is in a straight line.
- The perforated walls print cleanly due to their bridges being short straight lines that start and end on the extrusion below.
- The perforated walls maximise the amount of air that can get to the desiccant.
- The ends of the container have rims to prevent the container from sliding out of the spool on its own, or inside the spool on its own.
- The container can be slid in/out of the spool without removing the cap (which helps to avoid spilling desiccant). For spools where the inside diameter is too small (54mm or less) to allow this container to slide in/out, use this model: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118](https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118)
- The ends of the container (between the perforated walls and the rims) are “perfectly round” to allow the container to roll smoothly inside the spool as the spool rotates.
- The screw thread is optimised to provide a smooth, secure and perfect fit of the cap to the body of the container.

X1C print times for 1x container and lid (excluding “Prepare time”):
| Bambu PLA Basic | 54 minutes |
| Bambu PETG-HF | 64 minutes |
| Bambu ABS / ASA / PC | 74 minutes |
| Bambu PET-CF | 49 minutes |
| Bambu PETG-CF | 51 minutes |
| Bambu PA6-CF / PAHT-CF | 49 minutes |
| Bambu PA6-GF | 59 minutes |
Please note that the print profile (3mf file) that I've provided contains print modifiers that provide the triangular lattice at the ends of the container and its cap. If you download and print the step files on their own, the ends will be solid unless you create your own print modifiers. My print modifiers also provide additional anchoring of the triangular lattice to increase the sturdiness of the ends.
Tested on:
- Bambu Lab spools
- eSun plastic spools (the cap has to be removed to add/remove the container to the spool, so use this instead: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118](https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118))
- Overture cardboard spools (the cap has to be removed to add/remove the container to the spool, so use this instead: [https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118](https://makerworld.com/en/models/786118))
- Polymaker carboard spools
- Sunlu plastic spools
Please let me know if you find it compatible (or incompatible) with other spool brands. I'm happy to add modifications for other brands with different dimensions for their spools.
