Convert your basic digital calipers to a height caliper with ease! This allows you to set the height of your table saw blade, router bits, etc. You're able to reference a flat surface against another object's height. I've provided 3 different sizes that allow you to “reach” objects that aren't exactly next to the base.
I've tested this on two different calipers and realized that the blades on calipers are not all the same, so your success with this print may vary, but… it's a quick print to test! ;) I tried to leave enough variation to allow different caliper types, but still create a snug fit.
How to attach: Slide the larger base print (as seen in my 4th picture) over the non-sliding part of your calipers. This may be a tight fit. I've included a 12mm x 3mm hole for a magnet along with a hole that you can push from the other side should something get stuck. You shouldn't need this, but it's “free” to put it in there should you need it.
On the smaller top piece you printed, use a 12mm x 3mm magnet and slide it into the hole, Then, place the sliding blade part of your caliper into the grove of the top printed piece (as seen in the pictures). IMPORTANT: Make sure the groove area is perfectly flat, otherwise you'll introduce an angle which will invalidate your measurements. The magnet will help keep this top part tight against the reference surface.
Next, close the calipers all the way to zero out the calipers.
Finally… go measure stuff!!!
