Descrição
This model of a folding hinge is designed for a small shelf that can be lowered when not in use and locked in the upright position to function as a standard shelf.
The hinge is designed to auto lock in place when the shelf is lifted. To lower the shelf when not in use push up on the pivot support arms and lower the shelf by hand. It is important to mount the hinge supports perpendicular to the wall so they do not bind when the shelf is raised or lowered. One way to do this is attach each shelf bracket to the shelf with only one screw and then to the wall with only one screw ensuring everything is aligned. Carefully test the functionality and add the second screw to each mounting surface.
I included photos of the screws I used but any screw with a counter-sink head small enough to fit in the holes should work fine. It is important that the screws that mount the hinge to the shelf sink below the surface of the slider for the hinge to function properly (I used the black screws out of the bracket kit shown). Originally I bought these brackets to mount the shelf but decided to toss them aside and design these foldable ones instead.
This model is print in place, but removal of support material is required.
