Here's the simple project for Raspberry Pi Zero based on Adafruit 0.56" 7-segment i2c display.

What you will need:

• Soldering iron (to solder pins to a display)
• Raspberry Pi Zero (in my case RPi Zero W) with adafruit blinka installed
• Adafruit 0.56" 7-segment i2c display
• 4 breadboard female-female wires
• Micro-usb cable
• 8 2.5x8mm screws & 4 2x4mm screws (6mm long should do the job too)
