Design Concept
- This is a pencil case with a strong sense of technology, using a magnetic closure design. When closed, it resembles a sleek space capsule, with a zigzag lid that mimics the door of a spacecraft.
- The pencil case measures 180mm x 56mm x 30mm, making it highly portable. It can hold 8 standard-sized pens plus an eraser.
- The inner side of the movable lid includes a mesh compartment for sticky notes.
- When opened, the base expands, allowing the pens to be laid flat for easy access.
Printing and Assembly
- The mesh compartment of the pencil case is designed to be elastic, requiring PETG material for printing. A 0.2mm nozzle will provide better detail for this part.
- The top and bottom lids use a magnetic closure design, which requires cylindrical magnets with dimensions of D=5mm and H=3mm. After applying a small amount of glue, the magnets should be inserted and secured in place.
- The pencil case has built-in supports. If there are any filament residues, you can use a small utility knife to carefully cut along the residue lines.
The vibrant horizontal lines on the pencil case need to be glued to the main body. A small extended part is designed for easier positioning and adhesion. If using quick-drying glue, make sure to quickly complete the alignment and adhesion process.
Recommended Materials
- It is recommended to print the main body of the pencil case with PLA, as PLA has a lower shrinkage rate. Using PETG for the mesh part will provide better elasticity.

UPDATE 20250220 --AMS Multi-Material Version Removed
The AMS version has been removed because material switching caused significant layer time variation, resulting in noticeable layer shrinkage marks on the outer side of the top cover, which affected the overall appearance.
UPDATE 2025-03-14 A version of the magnets with D=6mm, H=2mm has been added.
UPDATE 2025-11-16
Updated the mounting tolerances for D5×3 and D6×2 magnets; increased the thickness of the elastic mesh to improve flexibility; applied minor shrinkage compensation to the pencil case lid so the printed edges come out straighter.
UPDATE 2026-01-09
Support settings have been adjusted, making supports easier to remove.
