🏌️Parametric Golf Mat Tee (V2 - Customizer Enabled)
If you're tired of showing up to the driving range only to find the rubber mat tees are missing, chewed up, or totally the wrong height for your driver, this is a quick project to throw in your golf bag.
🔄 What’s Changed in V2?
The first version of this tee worked, but it had a couple of clear limitations based on real-world use:
- Fixed Heights: V1 only offered a few set heights (54mm, 57mm, and 60mm). Because everyone's driver sweet spot and local range mats are different, V2 is now fully parametric. Hit the Customize button right here on MakerWorld to dial in your exact height down to the millimeter.
- Better Stress Handling: Let's be honest—nothing is truly indestructible when getting smacked by a high-velocity driver face. The original version sometimes tore at the base. For V2, I adjusted the default dimensions (14mm outer diameter / 11.75mm inner bore) to ensure it slices as a solid, continuous tube without weak internal gaps, helping it handle impact stress much better.
🧪 Material Choice: Use TPU (85A Highly Recommended)
Don't even try printing this in PLA or PETG—it will explode on your first swing. Stiffer TPUs (like 95A) will work, but 85A TPU is the sweet spot. The extra softness gives the vertical stem the flexibility it needs to completely bend under the club face and snap right back into place without tearing.
📐 Design Specs
- Flared Base Transition: Features a smooth R4 fillet wrapping the bottom of the stem to help distribute impact force and prevent snapping.
- Wide Base Flange: A 50mm wide, 5mm thick flat disc that slides cleanly under standard commercial range mats to keep the tee upright and pinned down.
🖨️ Recommended Print Settings
If you open the attached .3mf file in Bambu Studio, these settings are already baked in and ready to go:
- Wall Generator: Arachne (Handles the exact wall thickness perfectly without leaving messy, shaky "gap fill" squiggles inside the stem).
- Wall Order: Inner/Outer (Prints the internal bore circles first so the outer R4 base fillet has a solid foundation to stick to instead of sagging in mid-air).
- Wall Loops: 3 (Forces the vertical stem to print completely solid for maximum springy durability).
- Infill: 100% (Ensures the flat base flange is a heavy, solid slab of rubber to stay flat under the mat).
- Supports & Brims: None needed. ---
