I needed a vertical stand for the Stream Deck at my desk, so whipped this up. This holds the stream deck at 55 degrees, and gives a nice cavity for storing excess cable.
Assembly instructions:
- Use a spudger or flathead screwdriver to carefully pry the faceplate off the Stream Deck. After removal, you can remove the electronics from the body.
- Carefully cut the the body of the Stream Deck to allow for removal of the usb cable.
- Feed the usb cable through the hole in the vertical stand.
- Fit the strain relief into the slot in the strain relief insert.
- Push the insert into the hole in the main body.
- Coil up any excess cable into the cavity in the body (this would also be the time to add weights if you so wish).
- Using the pegs as registration points, fit the Stream Deck into the cavity, with the top of the device towards the left side.
- Fit the faceplate into the groove in the stand (you may have to shave the edges ever so slightly, but if you take small increments, you should get a nice, tight press fit).
- Pry off the rubber feet from the original case, and stick them to the bottom of the new stand.
- Plug it in and enjoy!
I printed mine with fuzzy skin to add a bit of character to the outside of the unit.
The strain relief insert will be a tight fit. Trust the process, and go slow so as not to damage your shiny button machine.
Tree support is advised, and you might have to use a sharp knife to free up the clips on the insert (go slow, they're fragile!)
