Here we have another Vise or Vice, whichever, so as not to offend anyone, In British English, regardless of whether you’re writing about a bad habit, a gripping tool, or someone who is second in command, you’ll need the spelling ‘vice’. This makes it nice and easy to remember!

‘Vise’, meanwhile, is only used in American English. And even then, it only applies to the gripping tool, Remember:

• British English uses vice in all cases.

• American English uses vice for bad habits and being second in command, but the correct spelling for the gripping tool is vise.

  I add this to this description as someone in the comments tried to lecture me on the correct pronunciation of the word, I'm in the UK so on this occasion it's a vice.

  Anyway, moving on, this little tool is purely designed for jointing dupont cables or the smaller diameter cables, I printed these 2 Vice's with PLA for demonstration purposes, ideally the vice should be printed with ABS filament etc.

  If you are careful you can use one vice to solder to cables or print 2 of the vice's as in the photos for jointing to give more distance from joint to vice.

  These little vice's print as in the print preview with no support, and are easily assembled with out the use of hardware or glue, they could also be up-scaled up in the slicer software should you wish to make them bigger for bigger cables.

  Assemble is easy, you align the non threaded part of the screw thread into the hole on the main body, position the main body vertically so the end cap is pointing up, get a small hammer and piece of wood and knock in the knob as far as it will go, then take the slider assembly and align it to the end of the main body and rotate the screw clockwise, for me the threads worked out perfect, after a couple of turns in and out. everything turned smoothly, the final thing to do is to push on the end cap, this only fits on one way, this can be glued on if desired but it's purely aesthetic.

  Nice useful little project to work on, and prints in less than an hour, happy days!
