Meet the infinitely growing triangle! Separated into 4 pieces, it is easy and intuitive to assemble using peg connectors. Here are the four parts:
Top: male connectors on one side. Only used once at the top
Edge: male connectors on two sides. Used for edges
Male: male connectors on all sides
Female: female connectors on all sides
To start, print the starter triangle, but to expand, you need to print edge, male, and female pieces (see below).
To build:
Take the starter triangle pieces and connect a female piece to the top piece. To the left and right of the female piece, connect the edge pieces, with the male connectors facing the bottom. Then, connect these pieces separately (left to right): edge, female, male, female, edge. Make sure the additional connectors from the edge pieces are facing below.
To add:
For each layer, you need to add +1 male and +1 female to the amount you used for the previous layer. So to add a layer to the starter triangle, print 3 females and 2 males, and connect them as you did the final layer of the starter triangle.
I've also included an insert that you can put numbers on or just make it a different color for aesthetics. Just press it firmly in and use a flat head screwdriver to remove. You can try replicating Pascal's Triangle.
See how high you can stack the triangle and upload pictures!
