UPDATE 08/23/25: A user notified me that the connector is unique for the YELLOW and GREEN spools. I cannibalized a GREEN spool and got it within specs to click as well.

UPDATE 07/01/25: A user requested an option for the Spool Adapter to be affixed to the rear connector of the AMS Riser. The design simply was melded with the existing rear connector and offset to clear the rear of the AMS. Only a YELLOW spool compatable version has been released. 

Background: After reviewing/testing several of the spool adapter designs, I encountered a few fitment issues in my particular situation. This is an enhanced remix of the “AMS Lite Spool Adapter” designed by DukeChocula, which is specifically designed for use with the Riser V2 Remix by maCyo42.

Original Design Concern(s): Loose engagement of the retaining tabs at the end of the spool holder. My AMS Lite spool kept sliding off anytime I tried to change the filament. Not a production ending issue, rather it was more of a headache as it was one more thing to deal with.

Solution: Reverse engineer the socket to tighter tolerances and redesign how the retaining tabs engage. There is now an audible CLICK when the AMS Lite spool is properly installed on the adapter.

Notes:

1. The profiles in my print are for PETG-CF, run at ½ or even ¼ speed to prevent as much stringing as possible. Effectively, it is not setup for a super fast print. Other users may have faster settings for other filaments as the model is fleshed out and tested more thoroughly.
2. An AMS Lite Spool was cannibalized to ensure proper fitment.
3. There is a little bit of clean up with this version due to the stabilizing disc I added to the design.
4. A little bit of silicone lubricant on the outer rim surface might reduce wear and smooth out its function.
5. Due to the aforementioned “tighter tolerances,” spool removal might take a little effort.
6. Make sure you purchase the correct (YELLOW or GREEN) AMS Lite spool that fits your use case.
   1. Left side mounting:
      1. Bottom feed = Yellow
      2. Top feed = Green
   2. Right side mounting:
      1. Top feed = Yellow
      2. Bottom feed = Green
