The Design
The Latest model in the Series is Here: The v2 - Vortex Fidget Ball
Note: this model is best used with some minor assembly (though not neccessary)
This can be played with in one hand. you push the ball through the disc and back.
The parts are also compaitble with other designs in the V2 series.
Dimensions are approximately: 27mm x 27mm x 35mm
Let me know if you experience any issues.
If you enjoy this print consider giving it a boost (It'd really help me out!)
Assembly
Though not necessary, this toy is best enjoyed with some assembly.
There are two methods:
The First Method uses a small offcut of 1.75 diameter filament
The Second and more simple method uses a 2mm x 33mm brass dowl (available from Bambu here)
Method 1:
- Remove all supports on ball and disc (disc has 2 small supports )
- Align hole in disc and hole in ball

3. Push piece of filament through and cut to length

4. Very Carefully Heat the end of the Hex key (Allen key) just enough to be able to melt filament, to then put on the filament to melt it flush

Method 2:
- follow steps 1 and 2 from Method 1
- Push the 2mm dowel through until flush (this will be very tight, please be careful)

Printing
The ball is “floating” to ensure the best lower surface possible. use auto tree supports to an angle of 30 degrees
For the Toy Disc, i've painted two areas, use normal (manual) supports on this part
It is set up to print sequentially (one part, then the next) in up to 2 colors
Once printed let the build plate cool before trying to remove.
(this should all be set up in the 3mf files already)
Please make sure your filaments are dry and in good condition. I've Found Silk filaments have a lower success rate. The ball can cause difficulty is your filament isnt calibrated well. Let me know if you experience issues.
My Work
