Descrição
Just out of curiosity, I put something together to test whether this type of model works at all and can withstand light loads.
Fantasy like floating table
As the name suggests, this is a pure gimmick that can serve as a base for a miniature (depending on the printed size) or even a plant pot - the area of application is entirely up to you.
I calculated the chain links accordingly and angled them to stabilise the top plate as its best. I was surprised that it worked so well. I tested a model with a diameter of 4 cm and one with a diameter of 7 cm. The 7 cm stand was able to hold a whole filament spool without breaking. I only pushed the table to its limits by applying external force (i.e. me pushing and turning).
Print recommendation
- for reasons of stability, I recommend printing with PETG, if it is only to have a decorative character with little weight, then of course PLA can also be used.
- to increase the load-bearing capacity, I recommend printing the object at an angle (as shown in the picture above).

Have fun trying out and exploring the possibilities, I'm looking forward to seeing your creations!
