I designed this spoolholder since I got an AMS. I needed an external spoolholder that fits all my spools, tiny 250 gram spools, normal 1kg spools and also some wide spools that I have. It's very sturdy, has a filament guide (feel free to design your own, it's mounted using 3xM3 screws and 3xM3 heated inserts) and very smooth (using bearings).

Everything is 3D printed except for the following parts:

• 2x 6mm tube (M6 thread I'm guessing will also work just know the holes are 6.3mm)
• 4x 608 “skateboard” bearings
• Optional: 3x M3 heated inserts (if you want to use my filament guide)
• Optional: 3x M3 screws (if you want to use my filament guide)

Put a drop of superglue on the printed axles before you put them in to lock them in place!

There's also 3 M3 heated insert holes at the bottom so you can design your own feet, maybe you want to mount it to your desk or print some TPU rubbery feet. Who knows? You do! Have fun :)
