Modelo 3D esp8266 D1 mini USB-C case por Zoatik no MakerWorld

Descrição

This model is inspired by the esp8266 D1 mini case from Valeria Momo.

This case is a compact design for the esp8266 D1 mini and cables/components.

 

Versions

  1. Without cables holders : more room for cables and small components (transistor, NE555, octocoupler, …)
  2. With cables holders : convenient cables management

The D1 mini should fit perfectly in the board socket and can easily be removed if needed.

Screw closure

In comparison to other case designs, I've choosen a screw closure, which adds an elegant touch to the case as well as a tight sealing.

For this I used:

  • 2 x M2 x 6 screws
  • 2 x M2 x 4 x 3.5 (D) inserts (where D is the outer diameter)

Assembly

Inserts

Instructions (with soldering iron):

  1. (if possible) Heat the soldering iron up to 200°C / ~392°F
  2. Place the insert on top of the premade hole
  3. Gently push the insert inside the hole with the soldering iron
  4. Stop pushing once the top of the insert matches the top of the case

ESP8266 D1 mini

Instructions:

  1. place the button on the side
  2. insert the D1 mini starting with the usb-c
  3. (if necessary) gently push the board to keep it in place

The board should fit enough to stay in place, but it is possible to have a little bit of loose due to printers tolerance.

Cables or other components

With cables holders:

  • cable : d = ~2mm
  • up to 2 back cables
  • up to 3 side cables
  • hole for 2 cables

 

Without cables holders:

 

  • hole for 2 cables

Case cover

Instructions:

  1. Place the cover on top of the case and align the screw holes
  2. Pay attention that the aeration holes stand on top of the D1 mini board
