Modelo 3D Adjustable Router Template MK#02 por HuKru no MakerWorld

Descrição

"Yippee-ki-yay, model makers! Dive into my latest creation."

I recently got interested in woodworking, primarily using a router. I've watched tons of videos on routers and their accessories, and one of the most useful tools I found was an adjustable variable template. Most of these templates were made using a T-profile, which is very hard to come by in my country unless you ship it from China. I was thrilled to discover the template from @luka here: Adjustable Router Template.

I immediately printed around 8 pieces (about 30+ hours of print time) only to realize I hadn't read the description carefully enough; the template required heated inserts, which I didn't have.

So, I began thinking about designing my own template that would still be compatible with Luka's but also include all the features I saw in the YouTube videos. Inspired by this video: Router Template Video, I decided to incorporate those features into my design.

I used the “base” of @Luka's model and added a ruler, drilled through holes, and created spaces for the bike latches I bought for 2€ each at a local bike shop for easy fastening and unfastening. Since I didn't have the square nuts, I used regular M5 nuts with a rim and fixed them so they wouldn't rotate using a thread locker. For the part connections, I used a basic M5 threaded rod cut to the desired length, and when connecting all three with one rod, it enforced the structure.

I designed it to be compatible with Luka's sliding bar with heated inserts, and I also created a separate variant without the notch. Most importantly, I added spacers so that when you set up the template, you just take the spacer for the bit you are currently using and position it on the right mark.

"I'll be back... with more amazing 3D models for you!"

Ïf you are interested in the technical details you can find them here:

Almost forgot printing recommendations:

the best way (with or without latch) is to print it in the upright position as it was designed with 45° angles for easy print, hence the triangle fill when screwing it together. I printed 3 permitters and 30% gyroid infill with my favorite 0,32 layer height for fast speed (nothing a bit of sandpaper cant fix afterwards, right?) …
