This is a wolf bust sculpture inspired by contemporary taxidermy pieces. It is meant to mimic professional taxidermy bust mounts. In this case though, no wolves were harmed in the making of this model. It is pre-painted for those who are using an AMS or AMS Lite, and I opted to make a white wolf so that you can add more painting to customize the colors to your liking, especially if you have multiple AMS units. I have oriented the bust to print in a way that diminishes quality loss due to layer lines while requiring minimal supports, and also provides stability during printing via an increased contact surface with the build plate. The contact surface and supported areas are not easily visible once assembled!
This model prints in two separate parts, the bust and a minimalistic hexagonal base. The head easily slots onto the base once both parts are printed and has a little extra wiggle room if your filament expands some during printing. The design of the bust on the base is made to appear to be “floating”. If you want to get really creative with this piece, consider buying miniature terrain and gluing it to the base around the bust for a more wild look! If you are giving this as a gift or designing a trophy using it, it looks excellent in silk metallic colors!
The base was made with help from Bambu's own Make My Vase generator!
