Uber Driver USB Powered Lightbox with Window Mounts

Because this would be used in a vehicle it is strongly recommended to print in ASA, ABS or PETG. PLA is not recommended and will melt/warp in the sun.

Back plate / lid

There are 2 lid options for the back, depending on your preference. One is a simple lid with holes to use threaded screws (printed or otherwise) and the other has plastic pegs that will hold it in place with friction. Only one lid is needed.

Power

If using a USB battery pack you can store it inside the lightbox itself. In this case, print 3 “Box Light Plugs” and plug each of the outlet holes on the sides and back.

If using a wired connection, run the cables through the desired hole and plug the others with the “Box Light Plugs”

Lighting Options

The backlighting I used was a cheap USB powered LED light strip from Amazon (link below). This is only one option, feel free to use any backlight source you prefer. The light strip I linked is easy to install and only $7 per strip (at the time of this posting). I taped the lights to the back of the lid in a U pattern. Putting the lights on the back of the lid will provide the most even lighting.

Mounting

The suction cups linked below come with a 5mm thread. This will thread into the 2 side mounts.
