Need something quick and simple to manage the mess of cables running around your area? look no further than the all new SIMPLE WIRE HOOK from missing_string.
In all seriousness, I wanted something to route the mess of ethernet cables in my house to replace some sketchy uses of thumbtacks, so I whipped this up. It's quick, simple, and prints without any material wasted on brims, rafts, or supports. The mounting hole is semi-countersunk for easy clearance when mounting with screws, and the first stage countersink is sized to index off of standard thumbtacks for precision placement. Due to the sharp lower edge, if you screw it in even a little bit tight, it will stick to walls at the angle you place it, even when your cable routing goes around curves.
The hook has a 4mm entry clearance, which is slightly smaller than a standard CAT5/6/7 cable, and will effectively retain it at any angle. It will fit 2-3 cables, depending on size. Flat ethernet cables will slide right in, so I wouldn't recommend mounting this upside down.
This hook was not designed to support heavy loads. I placed them about 1 meter (3 feet ish) apart, supporting a single ethernet cable each, but they should be able to support several meters of cable while maintaining structural integrity long-term. I'd avoid supporting more than 1-2 kg (2-5lb) from them if possible.
TL:DR: This is a quick hook for screwing cables to your wall.
