SnapCore – Parametric Mono Latch & Single Hinge SnapBox

Introducing SnapCore – a fully parametric mono-latch storage box designed from the ground up to be simple, strong, and highly customizable. Whether you need a compact organizer or a larger storage box, SnapCore lets you generate custom sizes by simply adjusting a handful of user parameters in Fusion 360.

Unlike fixed-size designs, SnapCore is built around a parametric framework, allowing you to quickly create boxes tailored to your exact needs while maintaining the same reliable latch and hinge system.

Adjustable Parameters

SnapCore includes the following user-adjustable parameters:

• 📏 Base Height
• 📏 Lid Height
• 🧱 Wall Thickness
• 🔒 Latch Width
• 🔒 Latch Length
• 🔒 Latch Step Height
• 🔒 Latch Corner Offset

• 🦾 Hinge Distance Adjustment
• 🦾 Hinge Opening
• 🦾 Hinge Insert Tightness
• 🦾 Hinge Between Spacing
• 🦾 Hinge Offset Adjustment

These parameters allow you to fine-tune both the overall box dimensions and the performance of the latch and hinge system.

Important Size Limitations

SnapCore has been designed with practical limits to maintain reliable hinge and latch operation.

• Minimum Box Length: 55 mm
• Minimum Base Height: 21 mm
• Lid Height: Recommended 18–45 mm

Boxes outside these ranges may require additional customization.

Printing Notes

SnapCore has been extensively tested in PETG, with additional testing performed in PLA. Because different materials, printers, and slicer settings vary, you may need to fine-tune a few parameters to achieve the perfect fit.

The following settings are the primary tuning parameters:

• Hinge Insert Tightness – controls how tightly the hinge inserts into the base.
• Hinge Between Spacing – adjusts clearance between hinge barrels so the lid rotates freely.
• Hinge Size – scales the hinge for larger or smaller boxes.
• Hinge Distance Adjustment – fine-tunes hinge placement distance from the box as overall box dimensions change.

For larger boxes or when using materials other than PETG, small adjustments to these values may be necessary to achieve the ideal fit and smooth hinge action.
