Modelo 3D King Salmon Wall Mount por LEM no MakerWorld

Descrição

Hey Everyone!

Bring the beauty of one of North America's most iconic game fish into your home with this highly detailed King Salmon Wall Mount.  This model combines lifelike proportions with clean geometry for an impressive finished display.

Unlike traditional fish mounts, this model features a completely flat back, allowing it to mount securely against a wall while maintaining the appearance of a full-bodied trophy fish.

The included adjustable mounting hangers let you choose how far the fish stands away from the wall. Spacers are available from ¼ inch to 2 inches, making it easy to adjust for any angle display.  Create anything from a flush-mounted display to a dramatic floating effect.

Pro Tip:

Before gluing the hangars to the mount, use one to adjust the mounting screw depth accurately.

Features

  • 26-inch overall length
  • Approximately 3½ inches thick
  • Flat rear surface for easy wall mounting
  • Adjustable wall spacers from ¼ inch to 2 inches that allow you to mount at any angle desired
  • Realistic anatomy and natural swimming pose
  • Thickened fins for durable FDM printing
  • Clean geometry optimized for high-quality prints

Whether displayed in a cabin, lake house, office, workshop, or living room, this King Salmon makes a striking centerpiece and a unique alternative to a traditional taxidermy mount.

2 mounting screws

Assembly Instructions:

  1. Clean and de-bur all mating flange edges
  2. Roughen mating surfaces with 100 grit sand paper
  3. Epoxy (recommended) or ca glue sections together one at a time assuring alignment with the dowel.
  4.  Gently sand and use light coats of filler primer, (it will fill most of the seams) apply Bondo to the rest, sand any uneven or rough edges smooth
  5. Paint to your liking

Pro Tips:

I used less than 1 - 0.85oz tube of JB Weld 2 part epoxy (50165) listed to join the sections together. Black electrical tape worked amazing stretching from the mouth to the fins and tail holding the everything tightly together until the epoxy cured (i waited 20 hrs before removing the tape). There will be (or should be) some squeeze out at the seams, a little 91% Isopropyl Alcohol and a micro fiber will clean it up while the epoxy is wet without damaging the PLA.

The seams were mostly filled with epoxy.  A few light coats of filler primer took care of 90% of the rest . The remaining 10%  Bondo easily took care of. After it cured and sanding, (don't be too aggressive with the sanding) Patience is best wait until the sandable primer if dry.
