Infinite Modular NAS/Case System

This is a versatile, stackable case system designed for your Raspberry Pi 4 (for now) with 2.5" HDD/SSD projects. 

The goal of this project is to provide an enclosure that perfectly fits your original hardware and cable lengths, eliminating the need for any cutting or soldering

Print only the modules you need and stack them to create your custom setup.

Core Features:

  • Modular Architecture: Mix and match layers to suit your build.
  • 2.5" HDD/SSD Module: Designed with integrated space for your USB cables, keeping your setup clean and organized.
  • RPi4 Module: Dedicated housing for your Raspberry Pi 4, with perfect aligned ports and easy access to sd card.
  • Expansion Spacers: Need more room for cable management or high-profile components? Use our 6mm or 16mm extension modules.
  • Custom Cooling: Choose your airflow. Covers available for single 40mm or dual 70mm fans.
  • Stable Base: Includes a dedicated base compatible with anti-vibration TPU feet for a quiet, professional finish.

Printing Recommendations:

  • Main Body: I recommend printing the structural parts in PETG for durability and heat resistance.
  • Advanced Support (AMS Users): My profile uses an AMS with PETG for the body and PLA as a support/raft interface. This creates a clean, "sacrificial" layer, making support removal effortless.
  • No AMS? You can still print this! Simply set the support interface material to Default. Note: If you remove the PLA interface, please remember to manually adjust your support settings (Top Z distance, Interface pattern, Top interface spacing, and Support/object XY distance) to ensure the supports remain easy to remove.
  • I reccomend adding +5° on build plate temperature to avoid warping
  • TPU Feet: Print the feet on a separate plate using TPU for that vibration-dampening grip.

Required Hardware:

To assemble your stack, you will need the following standard screws:

  • Raspberry Pi 4 screws: M2.5 (approx. 5mm length).
  • 2.5" HDD: screws (standard for 2.5" hard drives).
  • Fans screws: (standard for PC case fans).

Assembly Tips:

  • Tool-Free Stacking: The modules stack without the need for any screws, simply press the modules together firmly but gently, and they will snap perfectly into place . 
  • Need to reconfigure? No problem - they can be separated from the back using the integrated slot (just apply a little care!).
  • Mounting Reinforcement: Once printed, I recommend applying a small drop of super glue around the base of the Raspberry Pi mounting pillars. This reinforces the layer adhesion, ensuring they remain rock-solid when you drive in your screws.

Future-Proof:

This is just the beginning. If this project gains traction, I am planning to expand the ecosystem with custom modules for other Single Board Computers!
