Hi everyone! Here is my latest design: a LED pencil lamp made to give a unique touch to any desk or shelf.
I designed it specifically to fit a small 20 cm LED strip inside. The main goal was to make it very simple to assemble; you will only need a few drops of glue in very specific spots. To make things easy, I’ve uploaded some clear visual instructions in the profile pictures showing exactly where everything goes.
At the bottom, in the base, I left a gap that accommodates various cable thicknesses. However, I highly recommend not scaling or changing the size of the model in your slicer, as doing so might cause issues with the tolerances and the holes.
For the shade part (the piece that mimics the lamp glass), I used translucent filament because it diffuses the light nicely, but feel free to experiment with other colors if you want to get a different light effect. A little tip: I attached this translucent piece with just a couple of small drops of glue. This way, if you ever get tired of the color or want to switch it up, it’s super easy to remove without breaking anything.
Lastly, so you can display it lying down however you prefer, I included two types of holders in the files: a wider 50mm one and a smaller 25mm one. You can print a pair of the smaller ones to support both ends, or just use one—that's completely up to you!
Model size: 30 cms.
Hope you like the design and enjoy assembling it as much as I enjoyed creating it. If you decide to print it, I’d love to see your photos in the comments!
